The brief
A fictional independent publisher needs a place where readers can discover its point of view, explore current and past issues, and understand how to subscribe.
The challenge
The design must balance the visual weight of editorial photography with clear issue information, without making the site feel like a generic online shop.
Our approach
Build the navigation around issues, stories, and the publisher. Use a restrained blue accent, generous margins, and a consistent editorial grid.
Deliverables
Art direction and typography system; issue archive and detail page structure; responsive editorial layouts; content-editing notes.
Handover
Editors can replace cover images, add issue summaries, and maintain the archive without rebuilding the page layout.
A design decision
One accent, many stories. Cobalt carries navigation and small graphic moments, leaving room for changing cover artwork.
